Structural Core Integration & Installation Method
A key technical characteristic of this project is that each limestone column was fabricated with a 3-inch-thick outer limestone shell while remaining hollow at the interior. This allowed the system to accommodate a reinforced concrete structural post capable of carrying the roof load above.
The limestone shell was precisely engineered for flip-installation around the structural core, allowing the project to combine authentic carved stone aesthetics with dependable structural performance. This method improves constructability while preserving the depth, shadow, and mass expected from monumental stone columns.
