Completed in 2019, the fireplace combines the dramatic natural character of Rojo Alicante Marble with detailed French-style architectural carving. The stone’s deep red background, contrasting natural veining and sculptural ornamentation give the fireplace a distinctive architectural presence.

Custom Rojo Alicante Marble Fabrication
The fabrication process began with the preparation of the Rojo Alicante Marble and development of the principal architectural profiles. Precision equipment was used to establish the overall geometry, mouldings and primary forms of the fireplace mantel.
Once the initial machining was completed, the individual marble pieces were prepared for the hand-finishing stage.

French-Style Hand Carving
The decorative character of the fireplace is defined by its deep sculptural carving. Scrolls, foliage, layered mouldings and classical French ornamental details were carefully refined after the main architectural forms had been established.
The hand-carved work adds depth and definition while allowing the natural colour variation and contrasting veining of the Rojo Alicante Marble to remain visible throughout the composition.

Workshop Assembly
As the individual marble components were completed, they were brought together in the workshop to review the overall form of the fireplace mantel.
The assembled views show how the carved frieze, mantel shelf, vertical supports and decorative elements come together as a single French-style architectural composition.

Protective Packing & Transportation
After fabrication and workshop assembly, the custom marble fireplace was separated into individual components for transportation.
Each carved Rojo Alicante Marble element was carefully protected with cushioning and wrapping material before being secured inside a reinforced wooden shipping crate. This method helped protect the detailed stone components throughout handling and delivery to New York.

Site Conditions Before Installation
At the New York residence, the existing fireplace opening and surrounding living-room conditions had been prepared to receive the custom marble mantel.

After delivery, the individual marble pieces were carefully assembled, aligned and installed according to the approved design.
The completed French Rojo Alicante Marble fireplace mantel creates a dramatic architectural focal point in the living room, combining the rich red appearance of the natural marble with classical proportions and extensive hand-carved ornamentation.
The finished fireplace also incorporates decorative Fire Dogs and a classical Fireplace Screen. The screen enhances the traditional character of the setting while helping prevent sparks and burning particles from escaping into the surrounding living area.
With the television positioned above the mantel, the completed fireplace integrates traditional French stone craftsmanship into the contemporary residential interior.
