For a charming older residence in Toronto, I designed and crafted a unique entry door surround using Indiana limestone. The style leans slightly rustic, particularly at the top, where a subtle recessed panel has been carved into the arched section, adding depth and texture to the design.
The surround itself consists of flat limestone elements, each approximately 4 inches thick. On both sides of the door, I installed long vertical pieces that frame the entryway. The top arch was custom cut to match the dimensions and curve of the wooden door, creating a seamless and elegant transition. The natural color and texture of Indiana limestone added a timeless character to the home’s facade.
